Generic SIP Set for Avaya G10/G11

Generic SIP Set for Avaya G10/G11

(OP)
I've noticed on eBay there is a private label Netgear VG2004 that is branded by Avaya as a G10 or G11 analog gateway for their short lived OneX Quick Edition.

I know a little that it was a P2P SIP system, and it uses SIP to talk to the other telephones, etc. The G10/G11 basically ties to SIP and connects the sets to analog trunking, etc.

Given it uses SIP has anyone tried to use third party sets to connect to these little gateways or does it really need that special OneXQE firmware for say the 4600 series?

Much appreciated!

RE: Generic SIP Set for Avaya G10/G11

You really need the OneXQE Avaya sets.
But as far as my knowledge goes back these boxes are build by PATTON so you ma be able to reflash them and use common SIP phones.
But if you are thinking of buying them then I would advise not to.

No the ones I saw was a Netgear VG2004. It says it on the bottom. Perhaps G11 was another vendor because it looked differently.

Whatever back to a hopeless VOIP deployment...

Maybe, we sold one in Belgium EU and we had a G20 which was definite a Patton box which I reflashed with Patton firmware.
Just for the fun of it, now it is send to a destruction company.
