Clean out old VM by deleting WAV files - still shows message count?

Clean out old VM by deleting WAV files - still shows message count?

we had some users that had several hundred VMs, so I went to their folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Avaya\IP Office\Voicemail Pro\VM\Accounts\<user>
deleted all WAV files.
Deleted contents of the file: STATUS.TXT
Changed MSGNUM.TXT to 0
Changed LASTATS.TXT to 0,0,0,0

Though the mailbox shows a size of 0, the number of new Messages still shows the messages they had in it before.

Restart VM services

Thanks, Had to wait till no one was not he system. that Seemed to clear some things up.
It was interesting that All of the users I did this do could also no longer receive the VM to Email messages.
They either had no WAV attachment or no email at all.
I ended up having to disable VM and then re-enable it on all of them.

RE: Clean out old VM by deleting WAV files - still shows message count?

why not just use the voicemail client to clear mailbox command

RE: Clean out old VM by deleting WAV files - still shows message count?

The clear mailbox command will reset the entire mailbox and delete the names and greetings of the user. They have to set it up all over again. I was trying to avoid that.

I did end up having to do that to one user to get him to receive emails again.

Thanks!
