Recommended US based SIP Provider?

Recommended US based SIP Provider?

(OP)
Hi Guys, I am currently in the throws of trying to configure some Twilio SIPs on an IP 500 with not much luck(outbound calls are causing me an issue). I am not committed to using Twilio currently. So wanted to put the feelers out for SIPs that work well with an IP 500.

They need to be actual US based SIP trunks as they will need to be able to make and receive calls locally in the US. We have already looked into International numbers supplied by Gamma however they will not honour the outbound US number presentation.

I have looked on the DevConnect website and seen AT&T and Verizon both supply SIPs which have been tested but before we go down the route of provisioning more Trunks and Numbers I'd like some advice from anyone that has experience with either of these providers or any others.

Cheers in advance.

Well I do NOT suggest ATT. Everytime I work with them it is a major issue. Tickets made in wrong department, tech sent onsite when issue is with account, waiting hours to get in touch with a tech for a scheduled install, you name it ATT pulls it.

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.

I use VOIP.MS, but I think they might be based in Canada, but they have servers all over the USA, so they might have a USA office as well. Best service I've ever used.

RE: Recommended US based SIP Provider?

I have been using voip.ms for the last couple of years, but I can't seem to get reliable service. it seems like I've tried every setting under the sun and no matter what, I get waiting-for-line randomly. Not very often, but often enough to make me swap. we are migrating to flowroute

Critchey, whereas with Intelepeer the support is amazing, logged a fault at 9am UK and we had a response within the hour (so sometime between 2am and 5am US time) to get it resolved.

RE: Recommended US based SIP Provider?

If you reported a problem with ATT the turn around would most likely be days and would be mishandled. By far the worse company I have worked with for SIP or even "fake" analog lines.

I will keep Intelepeer in mind as we do not currently have a go-to SIP provider to suggest.

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.

Thanks for your help chaps, much appreciated. It appears that Intelepeer may be a little out of our customers price range; they only require 10 DDIs and 3 trunks and Intelepeer's minimum spend is $250. So I am back on the market for a suitable provider. I have got an account with Twillio and have managed to configure the trunks to except inbound however I am having an issue getting out bound calls to work.

It would appear the system isn't even attempting to use the trunk to dial out which is odd, I have tried everything I can think of with no success as of yet. Does anyone have any experience with these SIPs if so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Gknight1,

I've been using voip.ms for the last four years on my IP Office, and it's worked pretty well. I've also been using it for a friend in a hosted solution, who uses standalone Polycom VVX400 phones in his office. My BCM50, CS1000E and E-MetroTel UCx all use VOIP.MS with similar reliability compared to that of a PRI. I am sorry to hear you've had trouble. There are some tweaks when you first begin using it, that could sometimes cause an issue I guess.

Flowroute. They'll fit your budget and service is extremely reliable. about $2 per DID and then unlimited trunks that you simply pay per minute for. Have been using them for years.

If you sign up, let me know. We use them and will get a some sort of credit for referring you.

RE: Recommended US based SIP Provider?

Flowroute is amazing. I've had maybe periods of down time with them in the last couple years. Their support is pretty great, and the trunks are SUPER easy to setup on an IPO.
