Vodavi XTS inskin Voicemail Reset

Vodavi XTS inskin Voicemail Reset

Our voicemail system seems to have gotten out of sync or something with our system. When we try to access VM, it just rings and rings.

I know there is a reset button for this, and that has worked in the past. But, for the life of me I can't find the reset button. Where is it located?

And can I press said button without the entire system going through a reboot? Can I do it with people on the phone without interruption in service?

RE: Vodavi XTS inskin Voicemail Reset

I'd do a soft reboot, which will interrupt call traffic. We've replaced several failed memory retention batteries recently - you'd be smart to make a backup before a hard reboot.

RE: Vodavi XTS inskin Voicemail Reset

How do I do a soft reboot vs a hard reboot?

RE: Vodavi XTS inskin Voicemail Reset

Sorry for being dense...

But is the Flash 80, button 20 a soft reset, or a hard reset?

RE: Vodavi XTS inskin Voicemail Reset

Fl 80, button 20 = soft reset.
Pull AC power for fifteen seconds = hard reset.

Oh yeah... hard reset will definitely wipe everything.

But the soft reset shouldn't clear everything out?

RE: Vodavi XTS inskin Voicemail Reset

IF memory retention battery is OK, system should recover just fine after hard reset (power cycle)
Soft reset (aka restart) is just that, a restart. There are separate commands to clear various aspects of the configuration.

RE: Vodavi XTS inskin Voicemail Reset

I can confirm that our memory retention battery is toast... but we do have an APC to help the system not go down in event of a power outage..

would the soft reset be the same as pressing the white reset button on the board itself?

RE: Vodavi XTS inskin Voicemail Reset

Button does the same - I just find the fl80/20 faster and more convenient. If you're going to keep that system, consider avoiding all of the hassle, and replace the memory retention battery.
