Embedded IP Office Mode voicemail delivery delay

Embedded IP Office Mode voicemail delivery delay

(OP)
thread940-1770668: Embedded Voicemail message woes

I have at least 3 IP Office systems that experience this weird behavior. Has anyone else seen this or has everyone given up on IP Office?

Thanks
Craig

RE: Embedded IP Office Mode voicemail delivery delay

I have no issues with it.
The longer the messages the longer it will take to compile the messages because it has to take the wav. file and convert it to pure text then send it as such.
try to the system monitor and see if it actually sends it right away or if it sends it with a large delay already.

RE: Embedded IP Office Mode voicemail delivery delay

can you ping the mail server?

RE: Embedded IP Office Mode voicemail delivery delay

(OP)
No mail server is involved. This is just embedded voicemail being accessed through a telephone set.

RE: Embedded IP Office Mode voicemail delivery delay

Most cases seem to point to the Sd card memory being near full.
Check if there is a large amount on messages and delete them.
Recreate the SD card .

Next stage upgrade to the latest version of the software level you are at.

I just checked and there are only 2 dozen messages on the SD card. I will try the upgrade option next. It was installed with 9.1.0.0.
Thanks for the suggestions.

RE: Embedded IP Office Mode voicemail delivery delay

Oops
I saw voicemail delivery and automatically went for email option.

9.1.0.0 is the GA release, I would upgrade to a later 9.1 and see if that solves the issue.

RE: Embedded IP Office Mode voicemail delivery delay

I find it amazing how many installers use 9.1.0. Yes that is what Avaya was sending SD cards on... that does not mean that is a good release for production systems. It should be upgraded every time before putting the system in to production.

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.

I agree critchey. I normally upgrade in the shop as soon as I receive my systems. This particular one slipped through. Saying that, the issue is not just happening on a 9.1.0, it is also happening on a 7.0.36. I think Avaya has more than one ghost in its machines ponder

RE: Embedded IP Office Mode voicemail delivery delay

The only time I run in to voicemail issues is if a) the system is not upgraded b) the sd card is full or c) the sd card is having issues and needs to be recreated. I even randomly see people overtighten the screw over the SD card and it partially ejects. Otherwise I find voicemail, even embedded voicemail, to be pretty reliable.

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.
