Populate text box automatically based on an expression

Populate text box automatically based on an expression

(OP)
I have two tables that both contain assigned to. Only one of these tables (Table A) contain the person's rank.
I have one form based on table B that I want to build a text box that gets automatically populated when the record is saved.
This text box I want the result to be: If "assigned to" from table A is equal to "assigned to" from table B, then populate form with the rank from table A.
I think this is done via an expression builder, but I can't figure out the expressions.
Thanks.

RE: Populate text box automatically based on an expression

I'm not sure I understand. Typically if a value can be looked up, you shouldn't store it more than once in a database.

I think we would need more information about your actual table and field names as well as primary keys.
