ALOHA EDC - NETWORK ERROR VXN: 62

ALOHA EDC - NETWORK ERROR VXN: 62

(OP)
Hello! I'm rather intermediate when it comes to Aloha. That being said, as of 6 AM PST we have been unable to get anything working with EDC. Our batch said approved with a blank auth. Transactions didn't clear. I removed the settled file and tried again but to no avail.

I am stuck in a loop of EDC not updating transactions authorized in FOH while maintaining our original balance in BOH. I was brought on to this error late this evening and have tried everything I can think of to remedy... I've removed HLD and ANS files in bootdrv and attempted to batch, tried removing all txn files and attempted to batch, etc.

From the debout it seems this error correlates to a SSL Certificate issue. I've installed all Windows security updates in an attempt to correct the issue, but again no luck.

Here is a DEBOUT:

RE: ALOHA EDC - NETWORK ERROR VXN: 62

Hello,
As of 12/28 i know first data moved to a sha2. Been having a huge issue with fixing it for Aldelo. You might have to update the edc or check with the auth server address to see if it has been updated.

RE: ALOHA EDC - NETWORK ERROR VXN: 62

(OP)
Thank you!

It's been hours of holding with datawire and FD. I have yet to hear back from my dealer, I am sure they have to be busy if what you said is the case.

I'm running ALoha V6.7.38 and EDC V7.0.34
Where would I go about updating EDC?

RE: ALOHA EDC - NETWORK ERROR VXN: 62

For Aloha it might have to come from the dealer to get the updated EDC software. I believe the edc software can be upgraded without having to upgrade aloha itself but i am not 100% sure on that. I work with aloha a little bit and lucky not run into this issue yet.. But with everyone changing I am sure it is only a matter of time.

RE: ALOHA EDC - NETWORK ERROR VXN: 62

I am 100% sure there is no software to purchase for a new licesne. EDC can be upgraded to ver 12.3 from aloha 5.3 and up. I have been doing it all day. With 100% working. Give me call or text me. Contact info in on my website. Does not take long to do, There are few preques that need to be installed or checked before hand.

I posted on this very issue yesterday

RE: ALOHA EDC - NETWORK ERROR VXN: 62

You need to call your dealer and have them update your edc to 14.1.20 immediately. If you have txns on your terminals spooling that is fine. Just have them upgrade edc. If there is any txns in the ces folder you may move them out, upgrade and then move them back in, restart edcsvr and turn processing on and you should come out of spooling. Then you can test a card in 14.1.20 and it should work. They will need to drop the vxnapi.dll in the aloha bin folder while the edcsvr service is stopped and then start again. Also if you get a weird error when testing you need to change the gateways by going into each one and changing vnx1 to vxn and vxn on the 2nd line to vxn1 on each of your gateways and start edcsvr. I have seen so many things go wrong with all of this.

RE: ALOHA EDC - NETWORK ERROR VXN: 62

also 6.7 is compatible with edc 14 so you dont need to upgrade aloha yet but you will soon

RE: ALOHA EDC - NETWORK ERROR VXN: 62

Just found out aloha 6.4 works with edc 14.1.20 as well... somehow

RE: ALOHA EDC - NETWORK ERROR VXN: 62

POSTech72,
ver 5,3 running xp will still allow for edc 12.3.30, you just cant run the anytime update to do it. You just have to know what you are doing
any ver of 6.X will work with 14. The requirements for SHA-2 are IE6 or greater. So even XP works.
ver 14 requires .net 2.5
ver 12 requires .net 2.0
both require Visual Basic C++, Ver 12 needs the 2008 release, however ver 14 needs the 2012 release.

EDC 12.3 works just fine as well. 3 months ago Dealer in California spent weeks upgrading all clients to 12.3.30 It does not have to be ver 14.
With regards to other suggestions. No need to move the txns out, just stop the edc service, rename the CES folder to CES1, run upgrade, while its upgrading and waiting for ctlsvr to restart, rename CES1 back to CES. When upgrade is complete, reassign the gateway, and start POS processing. All transactions will still be in EDC with nothing more to do than pull the rest out of spooling if that does not happen automatically. Having done 100's of these over the past 6 months, I have yet to have one fail.

Strange things have occurred
like key code reverting back to older versions because key.txt had never been updated
upgrade not able to run because PC unable to get to NCR gateway to grab files.
Spooled files from months or even years ago show up in EDC because of leftover spl files left on floor terms
Firstdata needed to create new Datawire ID as the old one would not work. They need to be on the /SD gateway.

RE: ALOHA EDC - NETWORK ERROR VXN: 62

Hi, I've copy the EDCSEC.dll, EDCSVR.dll, EDCSVR.exe, EDCSVR.UPCLINT.INTERROP.dll, EDCSVRPS.dll
to the bin folder, and drop the vxnapi.dll also, all verion 14.1.21
but still get the error VXN62
Any Advice

RE: ALOHA EDC - NETWORK ERROR VXN: 62

bit more to it than that. You need to run the full autoupdate. Did you install .net for 2012?

RE: ALOHA EDC - NETWORK ERROR VXN: 62

Well, .net 2012 is install otherwise it won't run. I don't have autoupdate. may be I can call on you to fix the problem

RE: ALOHA EDC - NETWORK ERROR VXN: 62

If this hasn't been resolved just ran into this. Upgrade to 14.1.21 and if needed un-register and re-register services.
