BCM50 6.0 Teleworker "Try Later"

BCM50 6.0 Teleworker "Try Later"

(OP)
Hello all!

I have an issue that's just come up recently after a visit by an IT guy that just says he re-booted the off-site router and after that the IP set wouldn't come back up??

I've tested and confirmed that from both the original off-prem site as well as trying from my location last night, that the same occurs here upon registering a new set. Set registers fine and shows buttons, but when IC is pushed you get "Try Later" message.

I did reset the router at the host location and put the port forwarding back in place before leaving and still no difference?

I did read an earlier post suggesting putting the BCM in the DMZ to see if it works then? Will try that today.

Ideas?

Ideas.

RE: BCM50 6.0 Teleworker "Try Later"

Temporarily putting the BCM50 in the DMZ will determine whether it's a port problem or something else. If it works in the DMZ then you have port issues. If it still doesn't work you have other networking issues.

Signalling is done on ports 7000-7002. Double-check that those ports are forwarded to the BCM50 IP address.

After narrowing this problem down to the BCM supporting inside IP sets, but not remote sets, I've somehow ended up with the IP sets saying "no ports left"? I'll try rebooting later, but even by deregistering the sets, I can't get a set registered now???

RE: BCM50 6.0 Teleworker "Try Later"

You can schedule a reboot overnight.
Why was the remote site router rebooted I wonder.
Rebooting might help but sounds like a bad network.

Strangely enough, I've just rebooted the BCM tonight and no change. I can't register any sets remotely even though the system shows only one set registered on-site and the off prems won't come up with the message "SERVER NO PORTS LEFT"? This has gone from bad to worse. Firstly bad audio, then after the reboot on site by the IT guy- sets that said "Try Later" if you pushed an intercom or any other button. Now sets register, but come up with "SERVER: NO PORTS LEFT"??
Even tried a different IP address and with port forwarding set can still access both the BCM an BCM Monitor remotely yet no connection for the IP sets?
Signed Baffled over here?

Check that the BCM has the active licenses enabled.

Licences are in place for both IP sets and Nat Transversal. System has been up and working for a few years. Just something happened recently to upset this. The sets will register on site with no problem. Just won't register off prem. Initially registered sets but with "Try Later" message. Now just gives "SERVER NO PORTS LEFT"??

RE: BCM50 6.0 Teleworker "Try Later"

My router connected that the BCM is linked with has the following ports forwarded.

rule add name="BCM IP Phone Signalling" protocol=udp port range=7000-7002
rule add name="BCM 50 RTP over UDP" protocol=udp port range=30000-30099
rule add name="BCM Element Manager access" protocol=tcp port range=5989-5989
rule add name="BCM Monitor access" protocol=tcp port range=60001-60001
rule add name="BCM RTP Ports" protocol=udp port range=28000-28255
rule add name="BCM Voice RTP Ports" protocol=udp port range=51000-51010

Try adding in the bottom two port ranges. Only use EM and Monitor is need to access the system via the internet.

In the IP Subsystem area, I don't have the address discovery flag ticked (Stun Server) but my DNS settings are set as

DNS Primary Domain: localdomain
Primary DNS Address: (My ISP DNS Primary address)
Secondary DNS Address: (My ISP DNS Secondary address)

In the port ranges section on the BCM, I have under
RTP over UDP just 30000 to 30099 and 28000 to 28255.

For UDP, I have 20000 20255.

RE: BCM50 6.0 Teleworker "Try Later"

"SERVER: NO PORTS LEFT" is usually a license issue and that message comes from the Bcm saying that you don't have a license left for that phone.
Check with Bcm Monitor how many IP sets are registered and deregister the ones not used ,this will free up a license for your set.

RE: BCM50 6.0 Teleworker "Try Later"

"but even by deregistering the sets, I can't get a set registered now???"

I am wondering, how did you deregister?
ActiveSets/XXX/Capabilities/Deregister DN will only release the DN.

You need to got to Resources/TelephonyResources/Internal-IPsets, wait for the bottom to populate then go to IP Terminal Details.

RE: BCM50 6.0 Teleworker "Try Later"

I recently started getting "SERVER: NO PORTS LEFT" on my IP phones and I traced it to be the Stun Server that I had enabled on the BCM. Once I removed it, the messages stopped.
