No cursor in Microsoft Excel 2016

No cursor in Microsoft Excel 2016

(OP)
thread68-1765385: No cursor in Microsoft Excel 2016

I found the solution and fixed the problem reported in the above thread (that was closed for some reason so I could not add this solution there):

The problem was the width (thickness) of the cursor. I did the following to fix the problem:

1-Right-click on "notification icon" in the lower right corner of the screen

2-Select "Open action center"

3-Select "All settings"

4-Select "Ease of Access"

5-Select "Other options"

6-Changed the "Cursor thickness" from "blank" to "1"

The cursor then returned for all Excel files and it also restored the cursor to the search box or in the print dialog box where you type in selected page number and in the Dymo label software. Apparently, some software specifically sets the cursor width and some use the Windows default. How the default was changed to "blank" is a mystery.
