Show when Data has Changed from One Day to the Next Day in CSV Files

(OP)
YESTERDAY'S "ID.csv" FILE:

Term Class# ID
1162 2561 720580

1162 5222 568135
1162 5222 860444

1162 6555 568135
1162 6555 860444
1162 6555 565654

TODAY'S "ID_CURRENT.csv" FILE (I run the same query but when I download the new data to a CSV file, I name it "ID_CURRENT.csv" so I can compare "ID.csv" with this current one.)

Term Class# ID
1162 2561 850000 - Need to show that yesterday's file had 720580 but today's has 850000

1162 5222 568135 - Need to show that both files had 568135 and 860444 but now 565665 was added today
1162 5222 860444
1162 5222 565665

1162 6555 568135 - Need to show that both files had 568135 and 860444 but 565654 is now no longer in the database for this class#.
1162 6555 860444

Help is appreciated.

Thank you

RE: Show when Data has Changed from One Day to the Next Day in CSV Files

Kernal,

I have a report very similar to the report you're trying to create. Mine uses two Excel spreadsheets and shows the difference between them. Here is how it's setup.

Both Excel Spreadsheets are added to the report and linked by common fields. The "Today's" Spreadsheet is the left table and "Yesterday's" is the right table, I linked them using a Left Outer Join.

In the Header I placed two text objects; "Changed From" and "Changed To"
In the Detail section I placed the fields from Yesterday's table under "Changed From" and the fields from Today's table under "Changed To"

This shows a comparison between Yesterday and Today side by side. Similar to below.

CODE

Changed From Changed To
Term Class# ID Term Class# ID
1162 2561 720580 1162 2561 850000

1162 5222 568135 1162 5222 568135
1162 5222 860444 1162 5222 860444
                         1162 5222 565665

1162 6555 568135 1162 6555 568135
1162 6555 860444 1162 6555 860444
1162 6555 565654

Hopefully this helps.
