Procedure for making a test E911 call in NYC

Procedure for making a test E911 call in NYC

(OP)
So we made some changes to our system (added a SIP trunk) and we want to test Emergency Services. I know in NYC you need authorization for a test call but I am unable to find out who I should be calling to get the authorization. Does anyone know?

RE: Procedure for making a test E911 call in NYC

Call any precinct non-emergency number and tell them what you want to do. They should put you in touch with the 911 centre and they will provide you with the procedure and the contacts based on where you're located.

For Canada and USA and VoIP lines you must first give notice to the 911 services by calling 1 866 763-0911.

And yes non-emergency lines for all others will help you out as well the carrier.

RE: Procedure for making a test E911 call in NYC

I had this issue in Downtown NYC and was given the following story:

The request must come from NY Telephone to NYPD.
The date and time is then assigned by NYPD for a Saturday Morning between 2 and 4 AM.

End of story.
