CE10 CMS hangs on "Starting"

CE10 CMS hangs on "Starting"

(OP)
Hi, I am trying to start the CMS service on our CE10 Standard installation, but it hangs in the "Starting" mode without any error messages in the event log. The server is running Windows 2000.

It suddenly stopped working a few days back - no relevant errors in the event log.

The CMS database is a local MSDE database on the same server.

All other services start just fine.

Any suggestions on what might be wrong, or suggestions on what we should do?

Thanks.

Best,
Nils

RE: CE10 CMS hangs on "Starting"

Update: I have backup/restored the database to another CE10 server - the database is fine, and the other CE10 server runs fine on the exact same CMS database. I would really prefer to avoid setting up the server from scratch (though it's comforting to know the data is safe).

Any ideas what I can do?
