Create Empty file thru RUN map if data no content

Create Empty file thru RUN map if data no content

(OP)
Hi, I have a main map calling a another map and getting data from first card using "-OF1".

If RUN map doesn't create any data so nothing sent to main map(As output card set as create on content), main map is not generating any file.

My query is even if RUN map not generate data I need to create empty file atleast.If I change the output card setting from create on content to create in run map I'm able to do that but not allowed to do that as it is used by some other interfaces.

all I could work on is main interface ,any suggestions.

Thanks,

RE: Create Empty file thru RUN map if data no content

Easy,

Change your rule from:

=VALID(RUN("Test2",ECHOIN(1,In1)+" -OF1 Output.txt"),FAIL(LASTERRORCODE()))

to

=VALID(RUN("Test2",ECHOIN(1,In1)+" -OASINK1K'Output.txt'"),FAIL(LASTERRORCODE()))

...sending the output to SINK, but forcing a creation of a backup, to contain the actual data, even if it is empty.

Thank-you.

Paul.
