WiFi Router and antenna `Long range` - Recommendations

WiFi Router and antenna `Long range` - Recommendations

(OP)
Hello,

I`d looking for recommendation based on experience. I have a cottage in a valley where we have no Cellular coverage. So I decided to built a WiFi network on my 2 acres property.

There is a business at about less than 1 km away from my house which has very good network connectivity (Internet) and they want to share their network with a few neighbor since we are only weekend resident. WiFi would work best for us.

The question is Which router and Antenna would suite best. I referred to Antenna, as I assume we would need to install a sort of Yagi type of antenna aiming toward our direction. I have to say the Business office is higher than our residence but there are a lot of tree between us, not that it is really deep, but it is across the lake.

Ideas are welcome!
Thanks for sharing.

Sylvain
