NEED TO DISPLAY ABASE OUTPUT BETTER

NEED TO DISPLAY ABASE OUTPUT BETTER

(OP)
A client wants a database to display and add new contributors on a WORDPRESS website. This is my first time using WORDPRESS. I installed the ABASE pluggin and everything is working well. In the [abase form="1,insert" table="Contributors"... [/abase] code everything displays in a single row crammed together. I can't find any direction on how to break this up into multiple lines so the user can actually work with it. Does anyone have a solution there?

Thanks!

RE: NEED TO DISPLAY ABASE OUTPUT BETTER

sounds like a terrible idea to manage wordpress users other than by using the native wordpress user system. could well completely mess up any roles and permissions that the blog/cms uses.

but you have already posted in the abase support forum and that's the place you're most likely to get an answer.

Hi jpadie. I'd rather do this using standard web programming - HTML, CSS, PHP, AJAX. There isn't any blog stuff on this site. The user just wants to move his data from a single user access data base to mySQL so that multiple people (password protected) can get access. Hopefully I'll get something on the abase support formum.

RE: NEED TO DISPLAY ABASE OUTPUT BETTER

Wordpress is just php and an html interface.

Or maybe we are not understanding each other.

The point is that you should use the native WordPress screens for administering WordPress users.

If you want to migrate data from access to mysql then there are a bunch of tools to do that. None are safe out of the box without an understanding of different data types and how they can interrelate. The easiest of all is just to use an odbc driver.

Yeah, I guess I'm not familiar enough with wordpress to know native screens from any other screen. I'll look into that. Not only do they want more people to access the data they want to refine how they search the data which prompted me to redesign it. It's a simple database with only a few tables and I built in room to expand it to track events and fundraising campaigns.

RE: NEED TO DISPLAY ABASE OUTPUT BETTER

Load up WordPress
go to the admin site
Click on users.

Okay, at this time there is only the webmaster and me, the database manager.
