3rd Party SIP applications (android/iOS) Connecting to Public IP - No VPN

(OP)
I've been working on this for a while now and I am not sure if anyone has had any luck with something similar?

I'm using "CSipSimple" on Android and "Bria" on iPhone.

I set up a VOIP Proxy on our firewall directing all traffic on our public IP to the IPO but the requests just timeout. I picked up on the monitor that the IPO is receiving the registration requests but it just won't let it through. Any suggestions?

I was picking up the requests through the monitor prior to setting up the VOIP proxy so i don't think it did much good.

I understand that using a VPN would be simpler from the get go but unfortunately the end user (hammer) does not want to have to open the VPN connection and the app. They just want it to connect when they open the app.
