Got a potential customer that would want a queuing hunt group set up that can be answered by reps out of the office. I think that can be easily solved with twinning. Some reps would have office phones, some would not. The users that wouldn't have phones I would create a virtual user with a twinning destination.

What I don't know, is how can the reps out in the field turn twinning on or off remotely? These aren't the types that will have a soft phone, maybe one-x mobile apps?

Thanks...

One-X Mobile on 9.0 can do that.
There is an option to select twining or not.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

You can make this work even for a stone age mobile.

Example for Twinning on/off:

ICR:
Whatever no.1> 77719
Whatever no.2> 77720

SC:
77719/FNE Service/19/0
77720/FNE Service/20/0

Calling Whatever 1 or 2 from any kind of mobile phone will turn on and off Twinning.

Kind regards

Gunnar

Thanks, I had a feeling the almighty short code could be used...

You're welcome!

Still need to do the FNE, and I got the impressiom that this customer is better off with as little fuz as possible.

Nothing wrong with the app, but it can be a challange to support in some cases.
(Little or no interest in the technical solution, low tech mobiles, high staff turnover, etc.)

Kind regards

Gunnar

It's not that they're low-tech, they're just going to be outside (unable to use pc for softphone). They all have IPhones or Androids. I think the ideal thing though would be for them to be able to call in and enter a short code to turn on or off twinning.

The FNE feature is working great for my phone here on my desk, nice feature! But I can't seem to get a virtual extension to be able to do this. I've created a virtual extension, enabled mobile twinning on it with a cell number and assigned it a DID for testing. When I call the DID it goes straight to that extension's mailbox.

Is twinning for a virtual extension even possible?

It is a nice feature indeed!

Yes, it is possible, but it won't work if configuration is wrong:)

It pretty sure it will work if you correct the following settings on your virtual extn's:

- Set a login code for each Virtual User (User>Telephony>Supervisor Settings)
- Uncheck "Force login" (same place)
- Check "Twinning when logged out" (User>Mobility)

Kind regards

Gunnar

KHolladay's website (archived here: ) has a remote menu module in one of the downloads, might have been an older SBC download called menuremote that let you both activate/deactivate MT, and change the number. It was broken when I tried it, but there was a change that could be made to get it running...
