The MessageCore module is being stopped....Please wait

(OP)
I rebooted the MSS and when I go to "Stop Messaging" it says "The MessageCore module is being stopped...Please wait" and never changes. I cannot reboot/shutdown either. It is hung. Any idea's how to stop this process?

RE: The MessageCore module is being stopped....Please wait

Do you have access to the command line in Linux?
Can you type ss or displog -l act ?
If not, can you go to the graphic user interface to the system status or alarm logs?

RE: The MessageCore module is being stopped....Please wait

What has changed on the MSS recently? Have there been any software or hardware changes to the MM?

RE: The MessageCore module is being stopped....Please wait

if it is a 8730 they do it all the time. How long did you wait? i have seen some take 25 minutes before they start to shutdown.

Or in some cases i will do the 3 finger salute to bring it down.

What ever you do don't power it off.
