Hi
first time poster long-time reader.
I have a relatively simple task but seeking clarification.

Users would like Extension :
270 to become 285
And
285 to become 270

Is the easiest way to accomplish this, to move DN270 to a spare TN, move 285 onto the TN from 270, then move 270 onto the newly free'd TN from 285 ?
270 > Spare TN
285 > 270 old TN
270 > 285 Previous TN

any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

If the sets are the same type or physically moving the instruments if they are not. But both need to be digital or both analog. I do it all the time. Some do not recommend using MOV or CPY, but I have never had a problem with it.

Either do the move command like you said or just swap the cross connects.

To change the DN, you do not need a spare TN, simply go to load 20 and do a change
REQ CHG
TYPE <type of phone>
TN XXX X XX XX (TN of 270)
EASY YES (change easily )
KEY 0 SCR 285
<Enter>
..

after do it for 285 TN :
REQ CHG
TYPE <type of phone>
TN XXX X XX XX (TN of 285)
EASY YES (change easily )
KEY 0 SCR 270
<Enter>
..

After you should be OK.. In case, if you do not see the name of person when you dial the extension, you can go to ld 95 new name...(to add the name of the person)

This is easiest way I can see.
Hope this is helpful for you.

To change the dn you don't need a spare tn, correct. But the question was how to swap 2 extensions and to complete a software move you do need to bring a spare tn into the picture.

hi,

Thanks for the clarification.

minicompbx - will the phonesystem like having 2 DN's assigned to the Same TN, if even briefly?

Will be trying this today to see if it work.

Thanks

Yes, you can have two DN's assigned to the same TN.

Humm, here is a print of both DN's as they curently stand:

CODE -->

DN   270
     CPND
       CPND_LANG ROMAN
         NAME User One
         XPLN 27
         DISPLAY_FMT FIRST,LAST
TYPE SL1
TN   011 0 00 02 KEY 00 H MARP  DES 3820      21 JAN 2013
     (2616)
===========================================
DN   285
     CPND
       CPND_LANG ROMAN
         NAME User Two
         XPLN 27
         DISPLAY_FMT FIRST,LAST
TYPE SL1
TN   011 0 00 10 KEY 00 H MARP  DES 3820      17 DEC 2006
     (2616)

Is the set type actually a 2616, as i have tried entering it as SL1 but errors.

You need to use "2616" as the type

All Went through OK, after i removed 285 from a group hunt list as it wouldn't allow me to progress with it still added.
One of the DN's also lost the name but re-added through Ld95 as minicompbx suggested.

just waiting for confirmation from site but hopefully looking good!
