Hi,

does anyone know how to get the Createef template to look like the example given on their website?

I can't get the posts to show under the slider...

What are they? (posts?)

And how do you get them to show?

Thanks,

RE: Cant get homepage to show posts Theme4Press 'Createef'

so are you saying that between the slider and those 4 content boxes you want to show posts?

if the theme isnt set up to do this then you will have to modify the specific file by adding a query that outputs all posts.

never used it but typically premium themes deploy front page content via widgets. they also have a number of options accessible.

options and widgets are settable/configurable in the admin site.

Hi,

Yes I thought it would be a widget but cannot find one that produces those 4 content boxes, and I can't find documentation for the theme?

I did play with looping get_posts with a category_name attribute but haven't worked out how to output the content with the theme formatting?

If I have to, I can add my own custom HTML & CSS, but was hoping to keep it simple using the theme options, as the design shown for the template we have, is what we are after.

Plus they want to keep it as generic as possible so other, using just the theme options, can make changes without needing to edit source files.

I've emailed support to see if they have any documentation or can advise how they created that layout.

Though I was wondering if it was simply a 4 column widget footer, with basic content boxes and using theme tags?

I'm thinking perhaps the only 'content' part of that page is what you put in the page content, so to get the 4 columns the template only has footer layout options for aditional columns when you aren't using a widget bar for main content layout, change the footer CSS settings to match the main content section and it will look like part of the main page , but is actually the footer secion?

Cheers,

RE: Cant get homepage to show posts Theme4Press 'Createef'

do you have the createef menu item in the admin dashboard? if so you should be able to set the home page layout there.

i'm afraid I don't have the theme myself so it is a bit difficult to debug remotely. And at $29 it's outrageously priced.

Yes, I have the admin panel, and can see some of the 'CSS' settings.

I tried with a widget text box , but the default styling isn't what we want, so I think I will simply loop the required posts and output HTML that I can apply my own CSS to.

I can't seem to find any option that creates the bottom posts section as shown in the template example?

..... I just checked the theme4press forum where I posted and got this reply..

you need to create a new page and select the Business template. then in the page content insert 4 columns from the T4P shortcodes quick tag icon and insert a content of your choice.

So I'll give that a whirl.
