New install two questions on it I'm sure they are easy ones

First off I programmed the dial by name in vmpro to go to dial by name action then to transfer action with $KEY programmed under specific. Neither first nor last name work... What am I missing?

And also to set the outbound caller Id I was programming the user sc as
9N
Dial
Nsxxxxxxxxx
Ars

Doesn't work anything I might have missed?

the users have not recorded their names i will try again. My question is how does the vm pro decifer first/last names

coming from a nortel guy i am used to 2 separate fields for first and last name.

Also it does send out over the line group id i just forgot which it was when i posted this that is why i put ars

is that correct? and for user specific to program it in the user sc tab?

would anything conflict with it such as a system wide 9n shortcode? or does user short code take priority?

It uses the Full Name field from the system, so if you put it back to front (as some people feel compelled to do) you need to reverse the setting in VM smile

Yep smile

ยท Full Name: Default = Blank
Use this field to enter the user's full name. The recommended format is <first name><space><last name> in order for this value to be used correctly by voicemail dial by name features. When set, the Full Name is used in place of the Name for display by phones and user applications.

sorry to bring this back up... i just read some documentation that might have helped me solve an issue... if i edit the full name field (extension and name field stay the same) does it delete the original mailbox?

No, VM boxes are based on the Name field and not on the full name field.
