Where in the world do Tek-Tips members come from?

Record a new opening greeting from an external phone?

Hello,

Our current system rings four times before the voicemail message comes on saying, "Hello, you've reached..." and then the Auto Attendant does her thing.

These instructions:

Dial main number.
Press ** on your dial pad.
Enter mailbox number and password and then the # sign.
Press 3 to record.

...only change the personal recording. How do you rerecord the opening greeting from an external phone? The man we want to record it for us lives in another city.

Our system model number is 30MUL07 DR5 RTP, if that matters.

In Call Pilot you would have to have a Voice Item Maintenance number to access the system, then you would need to know the application ID and the password.
In Mermail it is called Prompt Maintenance and you would need the Voice Service ID and Password.

This looks like a nam so I would post it in the norstar forum. But yes you should be able to call in and go into the adimin mailbox (102xxxx) and chamge the greetings.

Call Pilot and Mermail is unfamiliar to anybody here -- do all Meridian phones fall into one or the other? Probably not related as the person needs to be on one of our phones to do it that way, right? He's in another city and that's why we need a way to do it from an outside phone.

We tried that first and that only allowed us to change the personal VM greeting, and not the general opening greeting.
