I need help with a ip office extension. A dept manager has a ext 2200, he wants his phone to ring at the receptionist desk first and then she will transfer it to his phone. Note he does not want the phone to ring at his desk when it is a the receptionist. Only when she transfers it.

I thought about setting him up with a different extension but I relized he has direct inboard dilaling attached to that number. Any ideas will be appreciated.

you can change the DID

or have his DID ring to a hunt group that has the receptionist extension in it then overflows to his extension

I would use a bridge or a coverage appearance button.

Target all his Incoming calls (DID Incoming number) to Reception. Does he want even internal calls to behave the same as incoming calls?
