message waiting key

The message waiting key will not turn on when there is a message. This phone has been in service for years and has worked fine. About a month ago the light stopped working. Replaced the phone with a known working one and still the same results. Any ideas as to why this will not work?

What type of CallPilot? What type of telephone?

Check the basics:

1. Is MWA programmed in the CLS of the set?
2. Is the primary extension programmed on Key 0 of the set? If not, does it appear on other TNs?
3. Are the Message Waiting settings in the mailbox correct?

Also make sure the VM DN is programmed to key 15 (on the IP phones and maybe the digitals

Have you tried testing the light on the phone using MIC and MCK keys?
