At my work we are moving to WIN 7 and Office 2007 PRO.....from XP and Office 2003 Pro.

I have a split 2003 DB. Can I upgrade the Front End to office 2007 and keep the data (back end) in 2003?

This would allow us to have WIN 7 Front ends and WIN XP front ends until everyone is converted to WIN 7...this could be another year or more. Running off a common back end would keep all the data together.

Also, I did a test conversion of the front end to 2007. It looks like my Switchboard (Standard) did not convert correctly. I am missing all the buttons on the Switchboard Form. Is this a bug in the conversion program or????? Is there any good reading material covering MS Access problem during conversion? Do I have to recreate the Switchboard in 2007? Could this be caused by my back end DB being in 2003?

As always, thanks in advance.

Sorry...I answered my own question. I had a security setting I had to change and the Switchboard worked great.

Still would like to know if I am facing a possible problem running an 2003 and a 2007 front end against the same 2003 backend.

Thanks,

I have run several systems with a 2003 back end and front ends in 2003, 2007 and 2010 with no problems.
