Which platform are you running on (Op System, etc)?

How are the Greek characters getting into the file to be read by the COBOL program?

Is there some other code/process that successfully reads these Greek characters?

they are not 'junk' characters, they are the binary representation of the greek characters using a different code page to translate them.

Hello
It is AIX 5.3.3.0. Through terminfo.cfg rmcobol85 should handle with -c option. Recently O/S is upgraded to 5.3 from 4.3 since then the problem started. Whether terminfo.cfg is O/S level specific.

Thanks & Regards

that is a operating system level configuration most likely - if on application screen all looks as it should then look at codepage conversion on the AIX printer configuration - they do need to be setup correctly, and in some cases you need to manually add some configuration entries manually yourself
