Hello, I have a LG LDK20 with 2 dual ISDN lines attached. We are having some strange problems such as incoming calls being dropped by the phone system stating "ISDN LINE RELEASED", we also have issues when people try to phone in where they get a recorded BT type message saying that the lines are currently out of order.

BT have been to the exchange several times and are at first saying there are no problems and not until they are pushed do they find an error. BT have supposedly fixed this 8 times now, each time showing the job as complete, which is obviously a pain to re-organise with them.

What i wanted to see was if anyone has heard or had this error before just make sure that its not the phone system.

Good grounding of your PBX is necessary. Please chack that. Also using ferrite cores rolled around the lines between the PBX and the BT endpoint, and also between the PBX and 230 VAC power supply.

95% of the time it is BT ,(genrally if the system says ISDN line released it is the network)

Things to try are dial onto the system rum maintenance commands to check line errors although these are not definative you can also check pre programmed faults and other usefull things.

You could prove it by swaping out the isdn card or chassis if on back plane , I know this is a cost but if you hold maintenance stock It will be one more visit and then either way it is resolved if the system is at fault or it proves BT issue .

if it is BT yopu keep the removed chassis and book it back into maintenance stock and you dont have any more visits , If its the system you get a happy customer...win win

My two cents:

Sorry to be late, we had some problems with "ISDN LINE RELEASED" message and finally the problem was that the NT1 was faulty.

You can try swapping the two lines and check if the released line is always the one connected to the same NT1.

Out ISDN provider replaced it and all began to work again.
