How's that degree working out for you? Was some language involved in the degree? How did you make it through the degree program without knowing how to write formally or read a manual?

Pretend the TDA is a computer. You have an instruction set and it's IN THE MANUAL.

Now get going and don't bother to beg for "guidance" when you can't even help yourself.

or "urself" in your stupid shorthand txtspeak.

The procedure is to get the manuals in your native language and read them or was knowing how to read not a requirement for your degree? and download the software from the dealer website in your country....

The problem with reading is in our country, there is no DHLC16. It's a DLC16 or DHLC8. DLC stands for DIGITAL LINE CARD and LCOT is Loop CO Trunk. The HYBRID line card only comes in 8 ports. I think that was in the very first section of the manual you must not have read.

Since you have that degree, you ought to be telling us how to install this stuff. I only went to Panasonic school and I was on the 9 year college plan without a degree......

First you don't need the console to wire an extension.Do the physical wiring first then come back with results to be guided on figuration having got the Maintenance console.

Remember you should be able to identify the free pairs from the DHLC 8 ,DHLC 16 ,DHLC 16 cards and choose where to terminate your additional extension.

If using a two pair or more, identify the extension number nearest to the point where you want to add an extension and borrow a pair if the point is far from thE PBX.

Your response is not clear to my previous question.Makes helping difficult.

All I wonder is what is the part number of the DHLC16 card, as in the one that starts with TDA017x.

I see one for the NCP and a vaporware one for the Russian TDA, but you seem to think you have two of them.....

The software is normally with agents/dealers.Which country are you in?.Visit www.wanetelecoms.com i normally get from there.

Anything else?
obtsystems (Programmer)
3 Jun 12 8:22
The answer is yes, depending on the model of phone in use.

The DHLC has 8 digital and 8 analogue extensions on it plus 32 on the other 2 dlc16 cards

total is 40 digital and 8 analogue extensions

PSU? if medium then you have 128 points

points used is 8 for slts and 40 if using kxt76xx or DT xxx phones

If using Kxt 72xx, 74xx, they use 4 points each

if they all add up to less than 128 including extra card you are good to go.

you will be up to the limit for requiring a MEC card, do if you add and digital extra devices off the back of another digital phone (76xx and DT series only) you will have to get one of those as well.

Installing these is not rocket sience, but knowing how to terminate the cable in the correct order and how to program the system is what you need someone who is trained in telecommunication equippment for.

You tring to save a few bucks, could cost you a lot more in your time in the end... If it was a bomb would you go on line and ask strangers what wire to cut

Here's the post that's probably going to get nuked, but here goes. This is the Tek Tips forum, not the we'll guide you every step of the way, even if you don't read the manual forum. You start the thread by saying you have 32 extensions. You tell us you have hardware that doesn't exist, and you can't seem to read a manual where all the information you seek is contained. If you had opened the link, you'd have found that there are SIX slots in a TDA-100 box, and either 64 or 128 points allowed in a small or medium power supply, the only ones that fit in a TDA-100 cabinet.

The descriptive names for the cards LCOT 8, DLC 16 and DHLC 8 stand for the number of ports on the card. The pinouts on the ports are fairly clear, first 8 pairs for the trunk card, first 16 pairs for the digital cards, and 8 times 3 pairs for the DHLC card is a Panasonic standard used in all systems since the KXT-123210 box. The point is, if you add up the numbers, you have a capacity for 40 digital and 8 single line extensions, and LOOK AT THE BOTTOM OF THE DIGITAL PHONE. Now plug a digital set into the XDP port and look at the display!

There is a set of manuals to a TDA system, the IM, FG, OM, PCPM, PTPM, and a couple more that don't apply (PPT and SD), along with the maintenance console that is required to program the system.

If you walked into your office tomorrow morning and the phone system had all red lights on the cards and an alarm, would you spend FIVE DAYS trying to fix it? I can walk into your office and add another DLC-16 and program it in less than 60 minutes, plus another 30 minutes to add the cable to the frame. With your demonstrated reading skills, I think you'd still be working on the Installation Manual after 90 minutes.

It all comes down to value. If your time is worth more than learning something badly, then call a professional to expand your system. If you want to pursue this stupidity, look to another forum for help, because this "good 'ol boy" is getting tired of this thread.

All this time wasted and all you had to do was read the linked manual given to you four days ago.....

Ishtaiqai,i agree with obtsystems. You may want to save afew bucks and end up paying more after messing up the system. Why not contact the person who installed your system.

It's alot cheaper than trying to fix it in which case you may mess it up and upon calling him,he takes the advantage to bill you more.

Companies normally keep records of guys who have installed their systems just incase they are needed.

You could learn from him as he does his work.

Best of luck.

I find that people that are so cheap that they think they can maintain there system have already annoyed the installer ... O I don't know about your installer but no one stands over my shoulder when I am programming except maybe my own tech .
