Putting together a quote for a customer and I'm trying to figure this out. quoting IPO IP500V2 R8 software.

Pots lines.
They have 2 entry doors right now that have old doorphones connected to a Toshiba system. They want to replace the doorphones on the IP Office. They not only have the doorphones ring internally but they also have an "unlock" button on the phone they hit to open the lock mech on the doors.

How would I accomplish this on the IPO? I was reading and see that people are using Viking doorphones on ATA ports on the IPO.. I get that part. but what about the controller and the parts required to interface to actually open the doors? Anyone here done this?

I've used Algo 3226 trunk fxo doorphones successfully for this, but they attach via trunk ports. They include an integral door controller, IIRC, and you can program them for opening via pressing a dtmf key (I think it's 6 by default).

Thanks for the reply. I'm looking at it right now and I think the real issues will be

1- not sure I'll have the CO ports free
2- The current doorphones on site are single gang units. They are on a stone face (it's a church) so changing to larger units really isn't much of an option.

So doing it what way would open both doors at the same time because the unit only has 1 relay right?

Just bridge the front and rear doorphones together into the same ATA port on the IPO? The office will answer the phone and see on the camera they have overhead who it is.. then press "x" on the keypad to trigger the door relay. Not a big deal if they open both doors at once. We think that is what happens right now. Since it's a church it's very low traffic other than the daycare entrance in the back.

Well, you could parallel everything and open both doors at once. Or parallel doorboxes and use an RC-3 to control doors individually. Or use a multi-point controller to keep everything separate. Or use two doorboxes and two RC-2A on two analog station ports.

I called Viking and here's what they said.

Front door
E40 tied to a RC2A and an analog station port on the IPO programed as a ringdown.
Rear door
Same thing just on a 2nd analog station port.

They would do, twice the profit

Oh being that it's a church and the guy that brought us to the table is an ops manager for a local media company we already deal with so profits are NOT high on this one. ha ha ha. Just have to make sure it works. Still learning the do's and dont's of the IPO being we had always been a Nortel shop. (among a few other brands)

If it were me, I'd do two of each. Clean, easy and solid. Just remember to tip your waitress and bartender

Just did this for a customer with two door phones and two door locks. They need to tell which door was calling. I used two Viking C-1000B and two W-1000 door phones. Connected the two C-1000B to two trunk ports, door phones connect to the C-1000B controllers, locks connect to the controller. When the door phone button is press the controller send ringing to the trunk port. Inside user answers the phone and dials ** to unlock the door. Works like a champ.

There is also 2 contact closures in the system itself which can trigger relays, these are activated with shortcodes or a button, may be another option

We use 2N Helios door phone , there are more solution

1. Helios connected behind ATA
2. Helios IP , use sip protocoll for audio / video it is very good
