Hi all,

I have a customer with a Mitel 5000, I'm having trouble programming the star app to ring the extension list during the day. The night function works like it should, however when I leave the star on the call routing table during the day it still goes straight to auto attendant, but the customer would like the phones to ring the extension list first. Also, when one of the users has his phone forwarded to his cell every 10 minutes the call is dropped and routed back to the Auto Attendant. Any suggestions on either of these 2 problems would be much appreciated!!

On the star one, how are you trying to route to the extension list? I send the star to a cra which just has the timeout option set the the extension list

When I try to send it to the extension list it won't let me enter it in the destination area. Am I doing something wrong? I'm sure thats possible! I have the star programmed going from bottom up like this, night aa, day aa, and weekend. From there I have the day aa routed to a cra, in the cra I go to digit translation and try to enter the extension list number, however it doesn't allow me to do that. Thanks

Its been a while since i played with a 5k...... i dont believe you can dial an extension list ....use a hunt grp and put the list in its member field.......also your other issue is a bug if i remember correctly ...its a timer issue causing the external call fwd to recall...check the timers and sort them linear and play with the 10min ones......sorry i dont remember the one..if i found out i will post it for you

Thank both of you guys, I checked the timers and there are 2, abandoned call and unsupervised co, since the customer said the attendant showed unsupervised recall I figured I would change that one to. I also saw that I could put a hunt group in the cra, unfortunately the customer is being difficult and wants all 4 phones in the ext list to ring at the same time. Frustrating much! I'll keep on it and let you all know if I'm successful. Thanks again!

Put the extension list in the hunt group and you will get your all ring ,, thats the way its supposed to work.

I think the abandoned call timer is the one you want ..... bring it down to like 1 minute and test.

It's the unsupervised CO timer you need to increase, the call forward to the mobile is basically an unsupervised trunk to trunk connection, bump this timer up and this should fix it.

STARs work from top down, when configuring them I usually put Mon - Fri 9 - 5 under number ten then the night service is routed via the recall option on the STAR. You can then enter any holidays etc under options 1-9.

Day service would be a CRA that timed out to a Hunt Group, under Members within that hunt group would be a Hunt Group Extension List containing the four extns you want to ring.

Yeah your right on the unspervised....i was thinking this was another thread where he had already confirmed the unsupervised was extended past the 10 minutes
