Adding a block of DNs and/or a single DN to a CS1000

Could someone tell me step by step how to add a block of DNs to a CS1000?  The CS1000 is fed off of an MSL-100.  I only need to know how to configure the CS1000 side.  I have searched the NTPs but I can't figure out exactly what LD or LDs I need to be in and how to do it.  PRT commands that would show me the current configuration would be helpful as well.  Thanks in advance.

You don't add a block of DN's to the CS1K. You just program the DN's as needed. What exactly are you trying to accomplish?

I have a customer whose fax machine and telephones currently resides on the MSL-100 and we are going to move them over to the CS1000.  They would like to keep their old numbers but the CS1000 has a designated block of numbers already assigned to it.  I would like to be able to assign more DNs to the system if I can.  When the system was originally put in, the installer programmed that original block of numbers but didn't show us how he did it.

Here is how to print just about everything of importance:

Thanks for the PRT commands.  That will be helpful.

You can go into ld 20 and do a prt, ludn, to see if those numbers you wish to use are available.

Yeah, I know about LD 20.  They are not in there.  The MSL-100 has 15,000 DNs while the CS1000 only has a block of 16 numbers that are pulled from that 15,000.  THe CS1000 is tied to the MSL-100 by a PRI T1.  I would like to use additional DNs from that 15,000 to increase the total of DNs on the CS1000.  I know I will be limited to the total number of devices I can connect to the CS1000 by how many analog and digital cards I have installed.  That's not a concern.  Right now, I only have 5 devices hanging off of that CS1000.  I just want to take the customer off of the MSL-100 and put them on the CS1000 and let them keep their same number.

Should be pretty easy, just build the phone's with the correct #'s on them and remove them from the SL100 and point those numbers to that PRI. You are also limited by licenses in the CS1K, just keep that in mind.

Ok.  I got you on the licensing.  So when I use the LUDN command it gives me the list of available DNs.  The number I am wanting to swing over is not in that list.  My list shows XXX-9681 through XXX-9704 as the block of numbers allocated to the CS1000.  The number I am wanting to use is XXX-4854.  Does that matter or can I just program the number even though it isn't in that list?

Try to add 4854 to a phone TN and if it works, it works.  There are a lot of variables we can't possibly account for without seeing deeper into your PBX.

If it responds with an SCH message, post the exact SCHxxxx message if you have not opened the books yet.  Get this set: http://www.ghtrout.com/micromerl/index.html

The LUDN list is mysterious if you are not familiar with it.  If nothing that starts with "4" is on the list, you should print a DNB on "4" to see what it is, if anything.

I suspect you have LD49 Digit Conversion also.  More on that when the time is right.
