Vertical Black Hairline on hp4005

thread697-1633606: line on HP Color Laserjet 4005 / 4700 printout

I have a vertical black hairline that prints from the top of the paper edge to the bottom paper edge. I tried switching black and magenta cartriges as suggested in a previous thread. The hairline went away, but came back when I switch the cartriges back to the proper position. I suspect something needs to be cleaned, but what, and what is safe to use other than compressed air?
