IP500v2 - 8.0.42 + Valcom V-1030C (5 watt -24VDC) Paging Horn
From what I understand this is suppose to have 600ohms of resistance - is this not true?

I have done a bit of searching on here and cannot seem to track down the problem.

I cannot seem to get this to work no matter what I try. I have literally tried over 100 scenarios including an analog "Paging port, standard telephone, (and even IVR port for kicks)". I tried dialing the analog extension, doing an automatic intercom to the analog extension, dial paging to the analog extension and more.

I have also tried programming it to work through a CO Trunk on a combo card and could not get this to work either. I have tried more short codes than I can even remember - including some pretty standard codes of 7N and 7N; to get it to go off hook on that line after dialing a 7.

I am starting to run myself in circles as to what I have and have not tried. Can anyone tell me the best way to do this? The horn blasted in less than 10 seconds of testing on a Partner CO Port. Is it best to program as an analog paging port? Out of a CO port? If analog paging port - do you have to change a bunch of settings on the line > analog options tab to get it to work properly?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Set a phone(IST) port as an IVR. There is an extra device you need though. It is a Bogen WMT-1A. It is an input/output line balancer.  There is a jumper inside that may have to move to the mic input. It's been a while since I have hooked one up. From what I recall, if you test with your test set and keep it in talk, then it works, but if you are in monitor, the page does not come through. If this is the case, get a WMT-1A.

Add a Bogen TAMB2 or the Valcom equivalent part between an analog port and the Valcom T/R lead.

Connect a Bogen WMT1-A (less than 20 bucks)between analog extension and tip/ring of speaker.

Make analog extension a page port.

Create a shortcode of dial page with that extension as the phone number

code = *60
feature = dial paging
phone number = extension number.

You can also put that extension in a group and page speaker and phones.

You can also test this without the WMT1-A by connecting your test set to the tip and ring of the speaker and leaving it off hook.Then doing the page with all the same settings.

Thanks a million guys!

Have black and white cable from the paging horn obviously going to the power brick, red and green (tip and ring) from the self amplified speaker connected to the outside two screw terminals (600ohm bridge) on the WMT1A then another single pair running from the same screw terminals to the analog paging port on the IP500v2. Had everything wired in place when power was applied to the IP Office then made system short code:

code = *60
feature = dial paging
phone number = extension of the page port

And BAM! super loud self amplified paging. Beautiful smile Thanks!
