I have a (WS-C3750G-24T-S v05*) I am trying to figure what version of IOS I should be using for an upgrade. I go to the Cisco site and see software for ::

Cisco Catalyst 3750G-24T Switch
Cisco Catalyst 3750G-24TS Switch
Cisco Catalyst 3750G-24TS-1U Switch

Which unit do I have?

I do not want to install the wrong  software and break my hardware. My unit is a 1U in size. The part number from my vendor was WS-C3750G-24T-S.

You would have to do a "dir flash:  and see what they are currently using and then just get the newer version.

The latest IOS release for the 3750 is 15.0(1)SE2, however not all 3750's can run this image.  If they only have 16MB of Flash then they can only run 12.2(55)SEx.  The release notes for 15.0(1)SE says:

Quote:

Not all Catalyst 3750 and 3560 switches can run this release. These models are not supported in Cisco
IOS Release 12.2(58)SE1 and later: WS-C3560-24TS, WS-C3560-24PS. WS-C3560-48PS,
WS-C3560-48TS, WS-C3750-24PS, WS-C3750-24TS, WS-C3750-48PS, WS-C3750-48TS,
WS-3750G-24T, WS-C3750G-12S, WS-C3750G-24TS, WS-C3750G-16TD. For ongoing maintenance
rebuilds for these models, use Cisco IOS Release 12.2(55)SE and later (SE1, SE2, and so on).

So based on that the latest IOS release is 12.2(55)SE5, you also need to use the 'lite' image (the filename has 'lm' after the image name - i.e. 'c3750-ipbaselmk9-tar.122-55.SE.tar').

Thank you -- yes this switch only had 16MB of Flash. I have successfully upgraded to 12.2(55)SE5.
