Being past 50 years Old my eyes can't see the difference in the subtle color schemes used in Windows 7. such as the when something is highlighted verses not in Windows Explorer and others. Also in Windows Media Player I am listening to music but I can see which song is highlighted since there is so small a difference? The white versus the very light cyan or whatever it is?

Is there a quick way to change this using a theme or something that someone found?

Right click on the desktop, select "personalize" and then select one of the high contrast (or other) themes.  Try that.  Good Luck!  I'm over 50, too.

Also, try right clicking on the desktop, selecting "personlize" and clicking on "Window Color".  You can personalize your borders, highlights, menus, fonts, etc. there.  I'm over 50, too.

bluenoser337, I tried several all of which seemed worse on my eyes anyway. all black and white with purple letters will take some getting used to.
Anyway thanks I need to pick one as and adjust parts of it as cmeagan656 suggests.
I guess I am used to the default Win 7 themes/colors so I'll just stick with it for now.
I have a partial cataract in one eye which make things slighty blurry and sensivity to sun light.  When I go outside and come back in it takes a long time form my eyes to adjust. Living in Florida 40 years does that to a lot of people here.
