We are using 4500 switches we have tried all lldp configs how do you get the shoretel phones to work with LLDP-MED. WE are having probelms with the power consumed. The switch shows that it is using 15.4 watts, but the documentation from shoretel says the phone only uses 7.1watts. Does anyone know how to configure the switch so that the phone and the switch will auto negotiate lldp-med.
Thanks

I ran into this on some IP Cameras recently.
The switch was allocating the max power and the switch was running out of power.
This manually sets the power on a POE switchport range.

int range g0/1 -10
-if)#power inline consumption 7100
