Wow, am I frustrated!

I realize I will have to go through some cryptic routines just to export Resource Usage Sheet to Excel, but before I even go there, I need to sort or group in the following order:

First: Resource Name
Then: Budget Code(Text1)
Then: Task Summary Name

Budget Code(text1) is a custom field, yet none of my custom fields are recognized when I try to sort/group the resource usage.

A silly work around may be to put the budget code at the beginning of every task title.  I hope that is not the case...

Thanks for your help!
Gabe F.

Is the Budget Code a task field or a resource field?

The Resource Usage view shows resources and assignment data -- if the you've entered the budget code into a task field, the only way to get the data from the Text1 Task field is through some code (VBA) to manipulate the data.

See the MVP website:
http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm#Data_Types:_Task,_Resource_and_Assignment

for a discussion of the task types and see FAQ 37 on the same page for some sample code.

I hope this helps.
