RIM BB JDE 5.0.0 wont create .cod file

(OP)
I am trying to create a simple app using RIM BlackBerry JDE 5.0.0 and it wont create a .cod file when I build the app. The app builds and debugs without error, the selected BlackBerry simulator fires up, but the app isn't in the app or download file of the simulator. I find that the build is not creating the necessary .cod file. It is nowhere to be found. If I shut the IDE down and start up just the simulator, it can't find a .cod file in my project either. Everywhere I have researched this I find the build process should create the .cod file. Any thoughts as to what is going on here?

I bailed out of the RIM platform and moved on to the Android platform. I still haven't solved this issue with the .COD file.
