I have a question, but not sure where to post it. The thing is that I want to scan my multi-vendor network via SNMP and read SERIAL NUMBERS and MAC addresses of ip interfaces from switches. But can't really find the appropriate OID for these functions. Can anybody help me finding OID, that every single vendor would responde identically, like:

The OID 1.3.6.1.2.1.1.1.0 (sysDesc) - every snmp enabled device responds with vendor, model and version of device, so I can scan network, finding out what are the devices.

But I need these devices to respond with their serials and macs of ip interfaces for binding them to my DHCP server in the future. Thank you very much in advance.

You should look in the interface table.

ifPhysAddress.3 = 00 0c ce ec b7 43
ifPhysAddress.4 = 00 0c ce ec b7 44
etc

I don't know what you mean by serial number.

I have figured out how to get MAC address of IP interface of switch: you just check any interface - they all have the same.
And about serials - every device has unique serial number. e.g. wireless access points by default use their MAC for SSID, and their serial number for network key. I need these serials to register my network equipment, but are not vital.

About serials it depends if the hardware company provided this.

You could do a walk on the whole device and look for the serial number. If it is there you would know the OID to lookup on future devices.
