adding java stream/file to a file input object

hello,

I have an html file object to browse local files. In some moments I would like to disable this object and fill it directly with a javascript file/stream. If this possible?how? If not, is it possible to point it to a file share in the localnetwork?

Programmatic alteration/modification of the file element is not possible due to security reasons. If it where anybody could simply target a file in anybody's computer for upload without their knowledge.

You can however browse to a network location through the element as long as its available to the client PC.
