What are the alternative source-editors available out there which can be used as an alternative to both the Lazarus and FPC IDE ?

I know that Lazarus is itself more than enough for everything but, i want a small source-code editor that can be used to edit source files and used with Compiler after setting the proper paths.

FreePascal IDE on the other hand is Classic DOS Based.

I'm using vimfor editing and command line for compiling.
