Hi

We have Nortel T7316E phones. We wanted to swap one phone with another and change the DN on that phone. The original DN that was assined to the new phone was XXXX and when we assinged the yyyy DN to that phone everything changed properly unless the other cities can not dial the yyyy extension.
We have 3 offices in canada and when you dial yyyy in the same office you get to the correct phone , when other cities dial yyyy they get to general mailbox and the only way they would get to that phone is to dial the old extesnion of that phone XXXX . dose anybody know whats going on here? and How i can fix it?

Also, I cant get to the menue to change DN again . I remember using Feature :**266344 but when i try this again it dose not bring me the menue . I also tried feature :**79786  same . can somebody hel me with this part too?
Thanks

Do you have a Norstar or BCM system?. BCM tends to be either a browser for the older NT versions or Element Manager for the later Linux ones.

It sounds as if the Target line needs to be moved.

All the best

When you do a DN change all that is changed is the DN the lines/names do not change and they need to be changed and reprogrammed.

And where and how would I do that?

Look for Target lines under line assignment and also any lines.

Thanks for quick reply.
i guess i partially resolve the issue. I remembered that when i change the DN on that phone , i assinged the wrong DN to that one ( a DN which was in use by another phone) so that Phone recieved XXXX extesntion and after i fixed the main phone and assing the correct DN to that the issue started.
So now there is a phone that has the XXXX extension , so when I disconnect that phone everything is working as they should .
I think the best action at this time would be to assing the correct DN to the phone that has XXXX extension?
Also I cant get the Feature **79786 or Feature **266344 to work , is that teh correct way to change the DN on the phone?

You say you have already change the dn's before, how did you do it? Since now you want info on how to log on?

I have the password but when i key the  Feature **79786  on the phone keypad , it dose not ask for password . it actually dose not do anything so what should I do after i put the Feature  **79786   on the keypad should I push any other key...

The main issue that i have is when I try FEATURE * * 2 6 6 3 4 4
or FEATURE * * 79786 , it dose not ask for password so i can move forward and enter the programming mode and I remeber it did ask for password before and its no longer asking for password , when i enter FEATURE * * 2 6 6 3 4 4 the display just show me the FEATURE * * 2 6 6 3 4 4 and after 10 or 20 sec it would go a way.
Any idea how I can get to programming mode?
