I have swapped cores, INI switch, Redownloaded XPECs in group 1, tested CNIs Tested Conf/TDS, Tested FIJIs

I am guessing I have issues with a fiji card or 2???

I was able to trace an example. 5370 called 6599 no audio to 6599 but 5370 could hear 6599.

Firmware is up to date on 3904.

Did you ever find a resolution to this? I am currently in the process of being jerked around by avaya with no resolution.

You can start with a signaling issue.

On the Backplane tests you have some card slots that are failing. 9 times out of 10 this indicates an unsupported vintage of card in the system. The signaling is off on your system.

If the signaling is off, this can cause all sorts of issues, from one-way audio to conference features not working. I am surprised that you do not see more issues with your system.

Check the card vintages against what is supported in the system. Make sure you ahve all the correct cards. Close enough won't work. Then change them out.

The next step is to INI your system, both Cores same time. Once the system is backup and working, complete a force download to all XPEC cards in your switch. Disable the controllers (DSXP X), then disable the superloop (DISL X). Then pull the CONT4 card out of the IPE module. Then reverse the process. Enable the superloop (ENLL X), it will respond with XPEC requesting download (you have to remove power from the CONT4 card for this to happen), enable the CONT4 card (ENXP XPC X), then enable the shelf (ENLS X Y [4 0] the ENXP XPC X does not bring the shelf back completely), then disable and enable any MC32 cards in the IP shelf.

Explanation of process:

1. You have to have the correct vintage of card or signaling is off in system and all kinds of issue can occur.

2. You have to INI to clear all signaling messages in buffers

3. You need to re-initialize your IPE equipment

This should clear a lot of your problems. Just remember when you see something fail in a test, most of the times it not ok to just ignore them, especially moving to Aura.

One thing I forgot to add. Go to LD 135 and .stat cni

If you have some programmed that are not active (would have not been removed during an upgrade procedure) get rid of them. You can do this during the day with no issues. Signaling issues also created when people forget to remove this programming.

What our vendor did was re-downloaded firmware to all the network & controller cards. Problem cleared. We recently up graded to 7.0 & something apparently went wrong according to Avaya. I did an INI and it did not help.

Yes, there is an issue and I have learned that there are patches that need to be loaded to the system that aren't in the ESPL. You need to make sure you request all patches for the system.

There are patches that have to do with the file structure in the system. I asked if they were the same issues with 6.0 and they stated they were not, but still need to be in the system.

Troubles with:

Speech path
Date on sets not updating
conferencing not working
Integrated cards locking up / call processing stopped

All cleared by performing the steps above.

wierd. I guess after an upgrade, I would look to add about another hour doing all the firmware downloads to the XPEC cards and making sure all looks good.

I would definitely add to the software tests:

LD 39
.test all

LD 45
.nsig

Make sure all comes back clean before closing up.

The patches were up to date after the upgrade. We found that the backplane test errors to be due to NT5D12AC cards. We found these errors not to be service affecting eeven though the Avaya upgrade matrix says that these cards are supported they do cause these errors. We replaced with a NT5D12AH errors cleared.

Yes, sir. Same thing that fixed our problem. We had the NT5D12AA. Customer put in without knowing the version issue. And actually, per GNTS, if you have a FIJI switch, you must use NT5D12AG Rls 3 at a minimum. If there are any older cards, you will be asked to replace them.

Sucks because some documentation states that your AC cards will work. Wierd fix though if you ask me, but signaling is a quirky thing.

Downloading the firmware to the controller cards seems to have resolved this issue for me as well (at least temporarily). We have not had any reports of the trouble since it has been done. If for some reason you cannot power down the shelf you can download firmware to the controller using ENXP c v where v is the version (found in LD 22 PSWV). I power cycled the shelves just because.

I was told by ETAS that you no longer have to power down the IPE to pull out the CONT4 card. We didn't and it worked just fine, but the actual card says to disconnect power.

But good that it worked.

Well a few days after downloading firmware to the controller cards my one way audio issue is back. Not as frequent as it was but my suspicion is that it will get there over time. Has anybody else had this come back?
