How mix audio and video on IP?

How mix audio and video on IP?

(OP)
Hi, everybody!
I wonder how resolve this problem, because I need streaming HD video together with height quality stereo voice from music hall concert.
Of course it must be permanent instalation connected to LAN, not handy camera.
For video I would like use some IP HD camera (any vendor, not exist jet) but for voice I must use external stereo (dual canals, already exist) system of microphons.
What step is next? How video and voice can be mixer in order to obtain one compressed streaming which I would like to sent on the network or save on NAS. Is it  possible just in IP camera or I must use another appliance?

If somebody has suggestions, I thank in advance!

RE: How mix audio and video on IP?

your will want to obviously run gigabit and have COS markings placed on the port that the HD cameras are on in order to prioritize the traffic across the LAN.  On top of that you will want to make sure all the switches carrying this traffic is capable of handling Q or the quality of service wont be maintained past that endpoint.  Are you running Voip on the network as well?

Thank cknipe for your response. Of course all is gigabit network. Switches are managed, handling QoS and VLAN. VoIP is not important so now. I stiil looking for IP HD camera with audio stereo. Has anyone knowledge about this kind of camera? Is another resolution?

RE: How mix audio and video on IP?

Part of your problem is going to get the sound to synch to the video, nothing to do with IP but to do with the problems of speed of sound vs speed of light.
I would seriously consider getting professional help in on this, otherwise it will look awful, even a 1/2 second delay between the sound and video will be painful to watch.

You  may want to try this forum as some of the guys may have experience in this field as well.

One thing you may not of thought of, how about hiring some kit and seeing how you get on? The company you hire from may even be able to help you set it up. That way you don't spend a fortune buying a heap of kit that simply doesn't work.

That's exactly what we've done.

They installed some kit that plugged into our lecture theatre's PA that streams back to a server where the performances are stored.
