Removing an old server

Hi, and a happy new year!

A colleague of mine went to our New York office to install a new Exchange 2007 server in place of the existing Exchange 2003 server.

Once he'd migrated the user accounts he powered off the old server, which has subsequently been physically disposed of.

Unfortunately, what he didn't do was gracefully uninstall Exchange, then remove the server from the domain!

Having had the error of his ways pointed out he's tried removing the server using ADSI Edit but that's just cleaned it up from an AD point of view, NOT from the point of view of Exchange which thinks NYEXC01 still exists.

Since ADSI Edit hasn't worked, what can we do to get rid of this ghost server?

There is no apostrophe in the plural of PC (or PST, or CPU, or HDD, or FDD, or photo, or breakfast...and so on)

Well, he's just had a second go with ADSI Edit and removed it successfully. Amazing what he can do when he concentrates...
