MM 5.2 exchange back end. MWI just stops. No errors messages at all it just will not even try to turn them on or off. The app log and system logs are not showing anything.  The MWI log shows 1568380781 [FINE] T01048 <mwiserver.CMWIFolderMonitorWrapper> (Connect) !!!ERROR!!! Failed to obtain Inbox monitor object from mailbox monitor manager.    Throwing HRESULT 0x80004005

If i restart the service it all works fine for a week or so then stops again.

Anyone seen this? I am stumped

that HR result is a generic denial.  Check to see if the Exchange services/servers are being restarted/rebooted around the timeframe when MWI stops working.  MWI/Call Me/Notify Me all rely on the Exchange mailbox sync registration that MM does upon MM service startups but will not continue to be registered after exchange service/server restarts.  Also holds true if Exchange in a cluster environment starts using another node and MM was registered to the node that is no longer available.
