Has AOL killed the secnews.netscape.com Forum?

Has AOL killed the secnews.netscape.com Forum?

(OP)
I heard AOL (Time Warner) has axed the secnews.netscape.com
Forum on NetScape's mail function.

It won't load for me, so it must be true.

Nice way to kill the competition - buy them out and axe them!

If AOL is listening - nice work!

Corporate capitalism at work.

RE: Has AOL killed the secnews.netscape.com Forum?

I'm a longtime Netscape webmail user.  I didn't intend to deceive, but I'm a user, nothing more. Netscape Search sent me here. I tried to load Secnews today (2100 GMT, or 1300 PST, where I am.  No go.
I was using secnews to try to troubleshoot a problem, but I'm not asking you to help--you have your own problems.
FYI this is my problem:  since about April 1, I can't send or forward e-mail from my free Netscape webmail account.  (I use 2 computers at home, 2 at work,& about half a dozen at the public library.) Browser: IE or NS makes no difference.  I finally got fed up & used the paid e-mail tech support.  They said they couldn't help me ($10.00 please) and referred me to the secnews site.  I spent from about 21.00 hrs PST on 4/22 to about 01.00hours on 4/23, checking postings and making a few.  When I tried secnews today, I couldn't get it.
I take this to mean that Netscape users & customers are screwed.

RE: Has AOL killed the secnews.netscape.com Forum?

I just thought I would comment and say that I can send email from my account, but it is not free.
I now pay $10 a month for this service.

I know juno went from free to pay, maybe that happened here also.

Sincerely,
charlie
