Hello!

Running a RAID I mirror on an XP i386 O/S platform - Boot Disks
RAID was broken, would not copy, rebuild etc.
Event produced two boot disk C;\ and D:\
Booting attempted from either produces a 'mixed conflicting set of ENVIRONMENT variables'

Now my %SystemRoot% is pointing to D:\
So %HOMEDRIVE% point to D:\, %ComSpec% point to D:\WINNT\system32>
How can I correct this such that %SystemRoot% points to C;\ ?

Thanks!

Can you boot from a bootable CD such as BARTPE and edit the registry remotely and search and change all the references to %SystemRoot% pointing from D:\ C:\

You're kind of hosed though and it may be less of a fight to reload.
