LS2208 w/wedge will not work with USB Keyboard

I've got a Symbol LS2208 with the wedge cable and it will not work with a USB Keyboard on a Dell Optiplex gx260.

Has anyone run across this and is there a solution?  I'm pretty sure I have this configuration working somewhere in the organization, but it may be on an HP machine.

I don´t  think you have to run the keyboard through the wedge.
You just put the wedge from scanner in the PS2 keybord connector on computer and the keyboard to USB.

1. you can Fabricate usb cable for LS2208 barcode scanner.

2. you can use USB to PS2 convertor available in the market.
