Is it possible to backup to one media server's disk folder and then duplicate that to another media server's tape drive?

It looks like I will have to upgrade my Backup Exec 12.5 to Backup Exec 2010 and move it from Windows 2003 32 bit to Windows 2008 64 bit to support Exchange 2010.  I only have one tape drive with one Media server currently.  I am exploring options of installing another media server at another site that is Windows 2008 64 bit to backup the Exchange 2010 to disk (this is VMware) and then duplicate that job(s) to tape at the other site without losing the catalog information.
